What are some of the challenges of your job?

Also, I am a kid at heart, so of course, this job fits perfectly. They are excited about everything, which in turn makes me excited. I enjoy working with children because of their wild imaginations and enthusiasm for reading. I started out as a youth services intern, and from then on I made up my mind that I would stay in youth services. I never thought in a million years I would enjoy being a children’s librarian. This job is great because it is never the same it is constantly evolving. As introverted as I am, having a retail job for 14 years prior to any library job I realized I enjoy human interaction too. What made you want to be a librarian? Why did you decide to be a children’s librarian specifically? Vickers recently shared what sparked her interest in the profession. She studied at San Jose State University for two years before earning this degree, which enables her to serve as a librarian.

Vickers graduated with a master’s of library and information science in December 2017.
